Helston - The Grange

Enjoy a strawberry cream tea in bucolic seclusion

The Grange is a Cornish-owned fruit farm where you can relax and enjoy morning coffee, cream teas and light lunches in the garden with panoramic views Enjoy a strawberry cream tea in bucolic seclusion When proprietors Maralyn and Fernley Curnow moved to the Grange in 1990 they had no idea what they were about to embark upon.

Their sole intention was to build themselves a new home with room for Fernley’s agriculture equipment.

Whilst building the house they started growing a few courgettes and anemonies.

Later they tried some strawberries.

Then they started selling to a few local shops off their own site.

Maralyn and Fernley were overwhelmed by the demand so they then decided to open a pick-your-own fruit farm for strawberries, raspberries and gooseberries and in 1995 started supplying supermarkets.

The Grange has developed from a trailer on the side of the road to a fully stocked shop.

As well as selling their own fruit, homemade jams and cakes the Grange fruit farm also sells other local produce, cream, cheeses, yoghurts, honey, apple juice, chutneys and eggs.

The Grange fruit farm has panoramic views of the countryside – from Sithney to Constantine and beyond. The pretty garden and hanging baskets make it a delight to sit and enjoy one of the homecooked meals served all day every day from Easter to October.

The Grange offers sandwiches, wraps, ploughmans, jacket potatoes, cheesy melts, salads, cream teas and an enviable selection of cakes and sweets, all made on the premises using local produce.

The Old Withy garden nursery is located within the complex at The Grange (01326 221171), on the road between Gweek and the RNAS Culdrose public viewing enclosure.
